Dan Walker is the Co-Owner and Chief Executive Officer of AEPS, where he directs all aspects of the company’s operations, strategy, and long-term growth. Under his leadership, AEPS provides a wide range of contract services to the federal government, including security services, facility maintenance, and management operations.
Mr. Walker brings decades of law enforcement and executive experience to his role. He is certified by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement Standards and Education and holds a Master Peace Officer License. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Education from Texas Tech University before beginning a 14-year career with the Texas Department of Public Safety.
During his tenure with DPS, Mr. Walker served as a Highway Patrol Trooper in Albany, Texas, before being promoted to Sergeant in 1993 and transferred to Austin. There, he was appointed Firearm Training Specialist for the department, a role in which he set standards, oversaw training programs, and shaped firearms instruction statewide. In 1996, he was promoted to Lieutenant while continuing to lead the Firearm Training program. His responsibilities included coordinating the Texas Concealed Handgun Instructor Program, placing him at the center of statewide training and certification efforts.
In 1998, Mr. Walker was selected to attend the FBI National Academy in Quantico, Virginia, an honor reserved for experienced law enforcement leaders. He retired from the Texas Department of Public Safety in August 2002 to focus full time on building and leading AEPS.
Mr. Walker maintains a Special Ranger Commission with the Texas Department of Public Safety and remains actively engaged in the company’s mission and performance. His leadership sets the direction, standards, and expectations for AEPS as a professional services organization serving government clients nationwide.
