Bobby Gideon brings over 35 years of distinguished law enforcement experience to his role at AEPS, where he leads Quality Control and Employee Training. He is licensed by the Texas Private Security Program as a Level III Security Officer, Classroom Trainer, and Firearms Trainer, as well as a Level IV Personal Protection Officer and Trainer. Additionally, Mr. Gideon is certified by the Texas License to Carry (LTC) Bureau as an LTC Firearms Instructor, LTC First Responder Instructor, and LTC Online Instructor.
A seasoned law enforcement leader, Mr. Gideon has extensive experience motivating and managing high-performing police officers and security teams. He is highly skilled in developing and delivering training programs across law enforcement and security disciplines, overseeing the AEPS Learning Management System (LMS), which offers courses in Private Security Training, Officer Safety, Firearms Training, and Human Resources Training.
Mr. Gideon’s career includes 25 years as an Adjunct Faculty Member in the Criminal Justice Department at Austin Community College, where he taught in the Academic Alternative Program. He began his law enforcement journey after graduating from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) State Trooper Academy (A-1981) and served with the Texas Highway Patrol Service and Training Division until 2007. He subsequently served with the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) in both the Internal Affairs and Training Divisions, retiring as a Special Agent in 2011, and later served as Inspector II with the University of Texas System Office of the Director of Police.
Mr. Gideon joined AEPS in 2014 and holds an active Master Peace Officer license. He earned a B.S. in Industrial Education from Texas A&M University, College Station, Texas, and maintains certifications including:
