WTMD and HHMD Metal Detector Training

This training is designed to provide improved Walk through Metal Detection (WTMD) and Hand Held Metal Detector (HHMD) operation and increase the overall proficiency of screeners.

All positions on the screening station team are equally important.

There are four (4) levels of security which include but or not limited to the following:

1. Security Entry Control
2. X-ray Machine
3. Walk-Through Metal Detector (WTMD)
4. Hand Held Metal Detector (HHMD)

This training will consist of the following:

1. Security Entry Control
2. Walk-Through Metal Detector (WTMD)
3. Hand Held Metal Detector (HHMD)

All members of the screening team must be vigilant to threats as they perform their individual and collective duties.

There is legal and policy guidance associated with screening of persons entering secured areas and  facilities.

However, there should be no more important guidance than experience and that instinct that drives action to protect the facility and occupants.

Terminal Performance Objective

After completion of this program the student will be able to demonstrate the ability to check and verify identification and detect illegal and prohibited items entering a secured area  or restricted facility.
