Purpose of Course

Proper documentation is an essential and intricate part of the Security Officer’s (SO) duties and functions.

  • Taking notes, completing forms, and keeping records are the most basic forms of documentation.
  • These documents record information that may be used to make an arrest, use at legal proceedings, record problem areas or incidents, or establish accountability.
  • Thus it is essential that all SOs have the ability to properly and professionally complete clear and concise documents.

Terminal Performance Objective

Given a classroom lecture environment, the student will be instructed in techniques to take notes, write reports and maintain records in a professional manner and according to FPS and company policy.

EPO #1: Explain the proper procedure for completing forms and activity logs

EPO #2: Explain the general guidelines for Note Taking
