Course Description
The techniques and tactics of DTS are the by-products of the Monadnock Police Training Council’s Advisory Board incorporated along with techniques vetted by FLETC, the ICE Academy, and hours of training in various other defensive tactics systems by the FPS Headquarters Weapons and Tactics Branch staff.
- The DTS is constantly evolving, new techniques are vetted and implemented, and old outdated techniques are removed.
- There are literally thousands of techniques that could have been included in the Defensive Tactics System.
- The ones that were selected are the most representative of current DHS policy and modern police and security work.

The reading gave a good description of the tactics and techniques but it was difficult to visualize the proper process without some kind of visual aid such as a video or photographs. Short video would be a really good aide in understanding and executing the techniques under this module.
